Avi Weisfogel Gives Back With Operation Smile

Already an established member of the dentistry community, Dr. Avi Weisfogel has recently expanded his horizons to the field of philanthropy. Avi earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and biology from Rutger’s University. He then attended New York University College of Dentistry where he received his DDS. He established Old Bridge Dental Care in his hometown in 1999. He was recognized on numerous occasions as Best Dentist during his time at practice.

In 2010, Avi Weisfogel started Heart Healthy Sleep in order to advise physicians around the world on sleep lab research. He then went on to create Owner Unlimited Sleep Patients in an effort to educate dentists on sleep apnea and its related problems. In 2014, he began Dental Sleep Masters and continued to lecture on patients with sleep disorders.

Following the success of these lectures, Avi Wiesfogel has sought to further educate while also giving back. Working with the charity organization Operation Smile, he has recently initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for this noble cause. Founded in 1982 by William and Kathleen Magee, Operation Smile is an organization that provides free surgeries to children and teens with facial deformities around the world.

While originating in the Philippines, their work has quickly grown to include children in over sixty countries. They now have thousands of volunteers that have performed almost 250,000 surgeries to children and teens with facial deformities. Operation Smile has also begun to educate medical professionals in these countries, as well as donate equipment and supplies to facilitate these surgeries.
