Community Center Completed through Efforts of Grace Farms and Sharon Prince

Sharon Prince Grace Farms Foundation constructed a community center in the town of New Canaan, Connecticut. This community center involved a considerable investment from Grace Farms and cost somewhere around $120 million to build. The Foundation purchased 80 acres of land to be able to build the center.

New York Times’s “The Spiritual and Spectacular Meet at an Ultramodern Community Center in Connecticut”, talks about a facility which is a nature center, gym, hub for social justice groups, community garden and a part-time ecumenical chapel — and that is only a partial list.

To design the center, they contracted with SANAA, an architecture firm based out of Japan. The facility is ultramodern and includes many features. Among the features included are a gym, a nature center, a garden for the entire community, and also an ecumenical chapel. The center is meant to have a spiritual underpinning, and this chapel is an important part of the spiritual presence of the center.

The design of the center focuses around a main building which is called the River. This building has many glass windows so that the view of the surrounding area can be highlighted. The River looks out over the meadows and forests of New Canaan. See This Page for related information.

In an interview, Prince, president of the Foundation, expressed her satisfaction in the results of the building project by saying “This is exactly what we hoped for”. Sharon Prince is helped by numerous wealthy individuals in pursuing the goals of the foundation. Among those involved are Prince’s husband as well as Robert P. Prince of the hedge fund Bridgewater Associations. There are also over 100 different donors to the project.

Sharon Prince functions as both the President and the Chair of the Grace Farms Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit that was created in 2009 and works to fight child exploitation, violence against women, and support other humanitarian efforts.

A Great School With Great Staff And Diversity

Once upon a time, a man with the surname of Stevens established a school called Academy of Art University in 1929. The place has been in operation ever since then. The student body has grown, and it is now one of the most well-known art schools in the United States, as well as in the entire world. This beautiful, wonderful place houses students from all over the world.

Nobody is kept out on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual identity or gender identity. This shows in the numerous student clubs that have been set up to address the needs of specific demographics of the student body. There are various clubs that show a presence of minorities on campus.

San Francisco, the location of this top-rated school, is a prime location for artistic individuals. The infrastructure and architecture of the city are great to draw, sketch and make renditions of. The local vibes and culture are mentally stimulating—especially to those who are new to the city.

The estimated price of an undergraduate student’s annual tuition is about $26,000.00. Of course, it is generally more expensive than many community colleges and state universities. However, the resources and connections that you have access to make it worth your money.

The teachers are top-rated in their fields. You will not get a bunch of inexperienced, academia related individuals voicing their invalid opinions. Academy of Art University understands the importance of stocking their staff with people who have valid credentials and a good amount of work experience in their fields. Teachers who do not have real work experience may not be able to provide their students with realistic insights of the industries that they are teaching about. This is a problem for students who are serious about having real world knowledge.
