Clay Huston is a business owner in the music industry with theatre design courses. He seeks to deliver aesthetic performance, top-notch live music experience while considering the artist’s experience. Huston has worked in companies that offer solutions in the live music entertainment in the capacities of sound engineer and project manager. During the establishment of his business, he acquired the tools of the trade that came in hand.
Clay Huston has served Billy Graham traveling band, in the corporate entertainment industry but finally settled for rock ‘n’ roll. He identifies his love for the music sector thus dedicating his passion, energy, and time to overseeing, management, designing, and production of a memorable number of live tours. In line with his vocation, he has had an opportunity to work with the big names in the music sector including, the Garbage, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Kid Rock, and Pink.
Clay Huston idea of establishing his own company came from his perfected skills while working for various companies. He was able to navigate through the various live entertainment aspects in each of his employment ventures. When recession affected the company where he was employed, he decided to take a risk and venture into entrepreneurship.
Currently, Clay Huston is working with Kid Rock, and he is doing stage management that involves running the floor on concerts. He is the first one to arrive at the venue checking the day’s schedule, completing a walk-through, laying out a storage plan and starting to plan a to-do list for his crew for the day. For full utilization of his productivity and that of his team, he ensures that everything is done before the show starts.
When the show is running, he starts to organize all the necessary steps for successful break down of the venue including directing employees in their respective duties.
To actualize his ideas, Huston uses his experience to determine what works and what does not work to lay a foundation for his sound, lighting, and set designs. He does a lot of CAD design to ensure that every equipment fits through the door and work out perfectly.
